KIDS TODAY

Everyone talks about our next generation and usually its never anything good, but I have a different opinion. I think the next generation is one of the smartest kindest we have ever produced.

People say that kids spend too much time on social media and on the web in general. Kids are actually learning from these experiences, Did you have the world at your fingertips when you were growing up, they do. If they are curious about things or need to learn anything all they have to do is type it in and kids are curious about everything. Did your parents always know where you were when you left the house? Parents do today and the kids don’t mind, cause they can keep track of us too! When I was grown up and left home the only way to keep track of my family was to call them and then there were long distant charges, so calls were few and far between. Now a days families can keep in touch through social media and we no longer have long distant charges, My youngest grandson of 14 follows his relatives on facebook. He is always telling me what his sister, uncle and I are up to.

Kindness: I sometimes think its not something that is taught, but something you are born with. Two children from the same family one can be kind and the other not so much so. I have been lucky all my children and grandchildren have really big hearts. At times they are nicer to others than they are to each other. My 21 year old granddaughter is so sweet. While working at a nursing home one of her neighbors was admitted. This lady had terrible dementia she didn’t even remember where she was at times. One day I asked her about my daughter, but I used her nickname, when I used her real name the womens face lite up and she said oh, my angel. These things melt my heart.

Kids are also active and ambitious. They are involved in sports, clubs and all different activities. My grandson who is 14 has started a lawn mowing business this summer he has put ads on Facebook in different groups, so far he has had plenty to do. He has even employed his sisters to help at times!

I have great hopes for the future of our nation and the world. I can’t wait to see what kids have in store for us
